Chi siamo
L'incarnazione originale della Fenice, l'Austin Commedia Society, è stata fondata nel 1999. Durante i nostri quattro anni di attività, abbiamo prodotto 13 sceneggiature originali, siamo stati protagonisti di "Commedia dell'Arte: A Handbook for Troupes" di John Rudlin e Olly Crick e abbiamo ospitato un Festival internazionale di Commedia dell'Arte nel 2001 con partecipanti provenienti da entrambe le coste americane, dall'Italia e dall'Inghilterra. Dopo una breve pausa, durante la quale i membri della compagnia hanno conseguito la laurea, formato una famiglia e viaggiato per le campagne americane, nel 2009 ci siamo riorganizzati secondo la nostra autorizzazione 501(c)(3). Da allora, abbiamo prodotto un'opera originale all'anno, portato in tournée i nostri spettacoli nel West Texas e nelle scuole della zona, organizzato un altro festival internazionale nel 2011 (con partecipanti provenienti da Italia, Ungheria, Australia, Inghilterra e Stati Uniti) e avviato dialoghi internazionali bimestrali sulle sfide affrontate dagli artisti di Commedia dell'Arte moderni. I nostri membri hanno scritto capitoli di pubblicazioni internazionali sulla Commedia dell'Arte, tenuto conferenze a livello internazionale e tenuto innumerevoli workshop per giovani e artisti professionisti. La nostra organizzazione è gestita esclusivamente dai suoi membri e governata da un consiglio direttivo eletto dai soci in una rumorosa assemblea annuale.
