The Spark, an umbrella project of La Fenice, was organized summer of 2024 to provide hands-on production, design and performance training for Austin area teens. These young artists selected their first production together and learned the ropes of budgeting, negotiating artist, venue and royalty agreements, and preproduction. Throughout the rest of the year, they participate in Conservatory-level theatre, mask and movement training as well as mentorship from award winning designers and producers.
All of this work culminates in a production selected/devised, produced, designed and performed by teens.
